Spring in Tissington (Derbyshire)

Today there were welcome signs of Spring, the sun penetrating through the greyness which has been around for the past few days. On the way to the wall I was repairing I passed a large number of sheep, gathering because food had been put out for them. Amongst the sheep were a number of pheasants, ducks and geese. Suddenly two geese, annoyed by the sheep, put their heads down and chased a bunch of sheep out of the way. It was an amusing sight both because of the mix of sheep and birds and because of the geese doing their sheepdog act. Unfortunately, I did not have a camera available.

On this same day there were a number of Buzzards climbing the thermals and a Merlin hawk flying fast and low.
